You probably have one or two little helpers who would love to help you with this activity. The fun part is next because you can choose many different styles of playhouses. There are many different styles of playhouse from traditional cottages or Victorian houses to log cabins or pirate playhouses. What tickles the fancy of your children and would look great in our backyard for at least several years? Lastly begin to think about the decor or accessories that can be added to your playhouse that could enhance the style. Whether the wooden playhouse is built from scratch or purchased your family can have a great time by looking for accessories at garage sales discount stores hardware stores or on-line that can complement the playhouse theme.
There you have it a playhouse built by you with playhouse plans from the internet. Granted this is a simple version of how to build a playhouse but with a good set of playhouse plans the process will be step-by-step and much more detailed. Building a playhouse is more of an advanced woodworking project however dont let that scare you away from trying to build a playhouse for your kids. Your kids will love you for building it for them and your family will have fun working together building a playhouse that will last a lifetime.
For the walls a lot of playhouse plans call for 4 x 8 sheets of T-111 tongue-and-groove plywood which should do a nice job of making the walls solid and weatherproof. I might also look into buying outdoor paneling with a decorative side - something to make the walls look more finished. Finishing the Roof I guess I havent decided yet exactly what Ill put down on the roof decking. Most playhouse plans call for the same thing thats on the roof of my house. roofing felt and asphalt shingles. That seems like a lot of work to me right now so I might shop around a little for some easier alternatives. Maybe a tin roof or some type of vinyl. Ill have to wait see about that. Final Playhouse Touches Well theres really no limit to what I can add for final touches - everything from window shutters to picket fences to really dress up the project. Most playhouse plans Ive seen have plenty of extras to make a simple playhouse pretty extraordinary. I have a feeling once I get the basic construction finished the extra touches might have to wait till next year.
